Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or special occasions, it offers gourmet flavors with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Set the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare Puff Pastry: Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut it into 4 equal squares. Place the squares on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Assemble Base: Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on each puff pastry square.
  4. Add Toppings: Layer a slice of ham and a generous portion of shredded Gruyère cheese on each square.
  5. Form Pastry Cups: Fold the edges of each puff pastry square slightly to create a border, ensuring it can hold the toppings.
  6. Bake the Base: Brush the edges with melted butter and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
  7. Add Eggs: Remove the pastries from the oven, gently crack an egg into the center of each, and season with salt and pepper.
  8. Finish Baking: Return to the oven and bake for another 8-10 minutes, or until the egg whites are set but the yolks remain runny.
  9. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle fresh parsley over the pastries before serving.
