Beef Marinade:

  • 500g beef, sliced
  • 1 tsp baking soda (for tenderizing)
  • 3/4 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 3050 ml honey

For Stir-Fry:

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 50g ginger, sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 chili pepper, minced
  • 2 bell peppers, sliced
  • 2 purple onions, chopped
  • Salt and chicken spices (optional)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1/2 tsp cornstarch (dissolved in water)

Instructions

  1. Tenderize the Beef:
    • Marinate sliced beef with 1 tsp baking soda for 10-15 minutes.
    • Rinse the beef thoroughly to remove baking soda residue.
  2. Prepare the Marinade:
    • In a bowl, combine cornstarch, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and honey.
    • Add the beef to the marinade and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Cook the Beef:
    • Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large frying pan over medium-high heat.
    • Sear beef slices on both sides for about 3 minutes each.
    • Remove beef and set aside.
  4. Prepare the Vegetables:
    • Using the same pan, sauté minced garlic and chili pepper for 2 minutes.
    • Add sliced bell peppers and chopped purple onions. Stir-fry for 5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  5. Combine and Finish:
    • Return the beef to the pan and mix well with the vegetables.
    • Season with salt and chicken spices if desired, then add soy sauce and oyster sauce.
    • Pour the cornstarch mixture into the pan to thicken the sauce.
    • Stir and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
